Our Story
Our Story
Shamless plug:
April 2020: We met on Twitch through one of Erielle’s best friends, who was streaming Animal Crossing.
July 2020: After a few months of knowing each other only through BANZ’s community, we branched off and started talking privately. In doing so, we built a really close and fun friendship, that eventually led to us considering a romantic relationship. Our feelings grew stronger every day, despite our distance and silly-o’clock hours speaking to each other via video calls. We decided we wanted to meet in person, but Covid stopped our ability to fly out to each other and make it happen.
December 2021: After 1.5 years of having a romantic relationship without an official title, we finally were able to meet in person. Luke flew out to America, and visited Erielle in Southern California. We solidified that our relationship was something we both wanted to become long-term. We celebrated a mini late Christmas and our first Boxing Day with each other.
January 3, 2022: We made it official! <3 Then we visited the Warner Bros Studio to explore the behind the scenes sets of the shows and movies that brought us closer to each other even at a distance. F.R.I.E.N.D.S., Harry Potter, Gilmore Girls, and many more.
April 2022: Luke came out to see Erielle’s hometown. We were able to spend time with the family, explore the Bay Area, and eat at some of Erielle’s favorite local restaurants.
July, 2022: Luke came out for Erielle’s birthday, and without Erielle’s knowledge, he asked her parents (and Lola) for their blessing to marry her. They said yes! Luke was Lola approved :)
January 3, 2023: We got engaged! In front of family, friends, AND our favorite animal, penguins.
January, 8 2022: We had brunch with a (now) Ninang and Ninong of ours, and after some great advice, we decided that it would be in our best interest to get married sooner than later. We told our parents, they gave us their blessing, and we picked up our marriage license a couple days later. We knew we wanted to make things permanent, and had already planned to get married, so why wait? “When you know, you know.”

WE GOT MARRIED! Only nine days after we got engaged? Yep! There are a number of reasons why we chose to get married so soon. The most important reason was to make sure Lola was present on our wedding day. This was something we discussed when our relationship became more serious. Even though we had already scheduled our wedding for December 3, 2023, which was only 11 months away from our engagement, we wanted to be certain Lola was there.
Our small ceremony was officiated in our home church, by our (Ninong) Pastor Mark. Luke wore Erielle’s dad’s Filipino Barong, and Erielle wore her mom’s wedding dress with a few modifications. It was so simple, meaningful, and SO perfect in every way!! The only thing we were missing were the rest of our family and friends. We saved the walking down the aisle, personalized vows, ring exchange, etc., for December 3rd. We’re legally and religiously married, but everything will be new to us on our wedding day. So here we are! Here to celebrate with you all!

We're so thankful to have everything we already need. So, we're skipping tradition. We would love some help creating some new memories, and saving a deposit for our first home together, instead! You can do so by contributing to our Honeymoon Fund or our Future House Fund.
Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where will the ceremony be?
A: It will be at the Brazilian Room.
Wildcat Canyon Road at Shasta Road,
Berkeley, CA 94708
Q: What time does the ceremony start?
A: 3:00pm sharp. We ask that guests arrive at 2:30pm to pick their seats because we will start marching at 3pm.
Q: Where will the reception be?
A: We made it easy! The reception is at the same venue as the ceremony.
Q: Can I bring my friend or plus one?
A: Unfortunately, the bride and groom have limited their wedding guests to who ever was listed on the wedding invitations that were sent to you.
(Still not sure? When you type in your name in the RSVP slot, you and your family/plus one should pop up. If your plus one is a fairly recent addition and you did not discuss that with the bride and groom beforehand, then unfortunately your plus one will not be able to attend.)
Q: Are children allowed?
A: We respectfully request no children at our wedding celebrations. We hope you understand and can still join us on our special day.
Q: What do we wear?
A: Please see our suggestions on the attire page of our website.
Q: Do I have to pay for parking?
A: There will be available parking spaces outside of the venue. We ask that you do not park on the parking spaces that have been reserved for the wedding party. If you don’t see a reserved cone blocking the space please feel free to park there. You may also park along the free space down the street.
Q: Where can we stay if we’re from out of town?
A: The wedding guests will be staying at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Berkeley Marina. You can also check the Accommodations page of our website.
Q: Do Luke x Erielle have a Wedding Registry?
